THE FINAL EXAM WILL BE IN ROOM 6 (same corridor as Room 1, but opposite side)

In accordance with college regulations, 
no final grades are posted online in Gradebook or by email.
Your final grades are mailed out from the college office.


The final exam is a 90 minute (maximum) written exam.
The final exam is closed-book and closed-notes.
The written exam is immediately followed by 
a 90 minute (maximum) assessed lab - see below for details.

The final exam is worth 40% of the final grade. 


Students must attain an overall passing grade on
the weighted average of exams in the course 
in order to obtain a clear pass (C or better).


These are the chapters to be studied for the final exam:


Chapter 5 - Decisions: Section 5.1 Relational and Logical Operators, Section 5.2 If Blocks
Chapter 6 - Repetition: Section 6.1 Do Loops, Section 6.2 Processing Lists of Data with Do Loops, Section 6.3 For...Next Loops
Chapter 7 - Arrays: Section 7.1 Creating and Accessing Arrays, Section 7.2 Using Arrays
Chapter 8 - Sequential Files: Section 8.1 Sequential Files, Section 8.2 Using Sequential Files

Students may be tested in a quiz or an exam
on the content of team or individual assignments related to the above chapters.


The final exam will be composed of a mix of questions:

Part 1 (20%) of the exam is composed of:

20 multiple choice or true/false questions worth 1% each.

Part 2 (20%) of the exam is composed of:

5 predict the output of programs questions worth 20% in total.

Part 3 (30%) of the exam is composed of:

two written questions worth 15% each. 

Part 4 (30%) of the exam is composed of:

two programming questions worth 15% each. 

In Parts 3 and 4 you select 2 out of 3 questions to answer.

The Final Exam is immediately followed by Assessed Lab #2.

Assessed Lab #2 if the second of two assessed labs, 
performed under exam conditions. Assessed Lab #2 is worth 5% of the final grade.
The duration of Assessed Lab #2 is 90 minutes (maximum).
The assessed lab program will be related to the final exam study topics (see above for chapters to be studied).

The assessed lab is open-book, open-notes and use of the Internet is permitted.

The second Participation score is worth a total of 5% of the final grade,
and is based on your participation in the course for the second half of the semester.
Participation is measured by student activity on the C4 system and submission of assignments.

You may inspect your status report at any time using the online Gradebook

Final exam dates are posted on the Coquitlam College website.

In accordance with college regulations,
