Most courses at Coquitlam College are classroom based, but some operate by distance education... Students in distance education courses (e.g. CSCI110) will meet the instructor in person or online in week 1 or week 2 of the course. Thereafter, students need only attend the college for exams and quizzes. When students register for a distance education course at Coquitlam College, they should ensure that they are free to attend exams and quizzes at the required day and time slot for the course. Spring 2010 semester: CSCI110D: Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:45 - 2:15. Students should not register for any course at Coquitlam College or another college in the same time slot. All lectures are accessed online on the College's C4 system at https://secure.coquitlamcollege.com/ All assignments are issued and submitted on the C4 system. Communication with the instructor and other course participants is by email, chat or Skype. Skype and chat are scheduled at regular online office hours each week. Emails are answered usually the same day. In addition to online contact, students may attend any of the regular in-college office hours: http://www.annedawson.net/InstructorsSchedule.html After registering for a distance education course at the college office, students should go to the C4 log in page at https://secure.coquitlamcollege.com/login/index.php. In week 1 of the new semester, students who already have an account on the C4 system should log in, navigate to the desired distance education course (at the time of writing, CSCI110 ), and on the main course page, on the left hand side, locate the link entitled "Enrol me on this course", and simply click on that link to enrol yourself on the course. Since the distance education courses allow guest access in the first two weeks, non-registered C4 users will have free access to the course, but to enrol onto the course, all users must have a C4 account. If you don't already have a C4 account, create a new account by going here: https://secure.coquitlamcollege.com/login/index.php and click on the "Create new account button" on the bottom right hand side of the screen. Note: You will need to provide a valid email address that you check every day. Then follow the instructions for students with a C4 account as described in the paragraph above.
