The midterm exam is worth 25% of the final grade. Students must attain an overall passing grade on the weighted average of the two exams in the course in order to obtain a clear pass (C or better). The midterm exam will focus on the topics covered in the first part of the course (before midterm): Algorithm Analysis Stacks and Queues Linked Lists and Deques Method Stacks Recursion Trees Binary Trees Tree Traversal Methods Priority Queues This material is covered in Weeks 1 - 6. The midterm exam will be composed of a mix of questions: Part 1 of the exam is made up of 10 multiple choice or true/false questions on a mix of topics (worth 3% each to a maximum of 30%). Part 2 of the exam is composed of 10 short-answer questions on a mix of topics (worth 3% each to a maximum of 30%). Part 3 is a written question worth 20% of the exam. Part 4 is a programming question worth 20% of the exam. For Parts 2, 3 and 4 of the exam, marks will be awarded for partially correct answers. GPA === Your attendance and progress is monitored throughout the course. Students receive regular status reports. Students may also collect a copy of their current status report from the Computer Science office during the instructor's office hours.
