Students must attain an overall passing grade on the weighted average of the two exams in the course in order to obtain a clear pass (C or better). The midterm exam will focus on the topics covered in the first part of the course (before midterm): C++ fundamentals, decisions, repetition program development, documentation procedural abstraction and functions value and reference parameters classes, objects, abstract data types file I/O, character I/O introduction to software engineering This material is covered in Chapters 1 - 6. The midterm exam will be composed of a mix of questions: Part 1 of the exam is made up of 30 multiple choice questions worth 1% each to a total of 30%. Part 2 of the exam is made up of 20 true/false questions worth 1% each to a total of 20%. Part 3 of the exam is composed of a number of predict-the-output questions worth a total of 20%. Part 4 is a programming question worth 30% of the exam. For Parts 3 and 4 of the exam, marks will be awarded for partially correct answers. GPA === Your attendance and progress is monitored throughout the course. Students receive regular status reports. Students may also collect a copy of their current status report from the Computer Science office during the instructor's office hours.
