The final exam is a 3 hour written exam.
The final exam is worth 40% of the final
grade.
Students must attain an overall
passing grade on
the weighted average of exams in the
course
in order to obtain a clear pass (C
or better).
The final exam will focus on the topics
covered in the
second part of the course (after midterm), however,
you may be asked questions on any of the topics
covered
in the course.
Topics:
types of computers
the main hardware components
types of computer users
an overview of Microsoft Office
applications
data processing
operating systems
binary numbering system
logical operators
the software lifecycle
the topics of Quiz 2
Section
5.1 only of the following:
The final exam will be composed of a mix of
questions:
Part 1 of the exam is composed of
15 multiple choice or true/false questions
worth 2% each.
Part 2 of the exam is composed of
10 fill-in-the-blank questions or short answer
questions
worth 2% each.
Part 3 of the exam is composed of
5 predict-the-output of programs worth 4%
each.
Part 4 of the exam is composed of
three written questions worth 10% each.
The written questions may include
essay-type questions;
for example: "With respect to database
tables,
explain the difference between a record and
a field".
The written questions may involve locating
errors
in a simple program, or writing a short
Python program.
For written questions, marks will be
awarded for partially correct answers.

Your attendance and progress will be
monitored throughout this course.
You will receive regular status reports.
Students may also
collect a copy of their current status
report from the Computer Science
office during the instructor's office
hours.
The date of the final exam is shown in the
course schedule.
