Each team must select a team leader.
The team leader will email the instructor
the following information:
1. Course Code: BUSI237A or BUSI237B
2. Team leader's real name and nickname
3. Team members' real names and nicknames
4. Three businesses chosen from the list above (in order of preference)
The instuctor will assign businesses to teams
on a first come - first served basis.
When assigned, the team leader's course code and nickname
will appear next to the business in the list above.
Using validated XHTML 1.0 Strict, CSS and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO),
each team will generate a website composed of at least
6 pages for the assigned business. You are expected to do your
own research on SEO.
Imagine that the CEO of a bricks-and-mortar company
has asked the IT manager (your team leader) to build a website for the company
to promote the company and its product. It must look professional
and compare well with other websites in the same industry.
Your website will be scored according to:
1. the company name and logo
(the logo to be designed from scratch using graphics software)
2. the inclusion of the name of the team leader
and the name of each team member by means of an 'About Us' link on every page
3. the technical correctness of the web pages and CSS
(valid XHTML 1.0 Strict, valid CSS, and appropriate SEO)
4. the overall website design
(use of colour, font, layout, ease of navigation etc.,
according to the guidelines presented in the course)
5. the content of the pages
(the text and images on each web page)
6. how well the site supports the conduct of e-commerce
(for details - see Chapter 5)
When you present your website, you should present it as if you were
showing it to the company CEO for the first time.
All files are due at the start of the last class of the semester.
Presentations will take place in the last class of the semester.
Presentations are 15 minutes maximum.
Good Luck!
... and sincere thanks for being excellent students!
